Stoneleigh-Burnham School is an academic community that inspires girls to pursue meaningful lives based on honor, respect, and intellectual curiosity.
Stoneleigh-Burnham School resulted from the merger of The Mary A. Burnham School of Northampton, founded in 1877, and the Stoneleigh-Prospect Hill School of Greenfield, founded in 1869. Stoneleigh-Burnham School is a learning community for girls in grades 7-12 and postgraduate with both day and boarding options. SBS has nationally recognized programs in science, debate, art, and riding with an extensive college preparatory curriculum for students with a wide range of learning backgrounds and includes Honors and Advanced Placement courses in all departments.
Stoneleigh-Burnham school is located in the town Greenfield which has approximately 35,000 inhabitants is located about 1.5 hours from Boston. The area is safe and beautiful with farming landscapes and many educational institutions in the area, colleges, universities and preparatory schools.
Academic and Sport Facilities
Main building houses classrooms, dining room, faculty apartments, administrative offices, science building which has new science facilities, laboratories, arts building, Emerson hall with gymnasium, dance studio, art studio, ceramics, kiln, and pottery wheels, photography dark room, music rooms.
Athletic fields, gymnasium, weight room, outdoor swimming pool, riding trails, paddock, barns, two indoor riding rings, heated observation room for households, derby fields, dance studio.
Dormitories and School Residences
Students are housed upstairs in the main building, rooms are double, some with suite bathrooms, others with common bathrooms, there are common rooms that have TV’s that can be used at certain times. There are phones on each corridor. We are a wireless campus for laptops and computers. Students are allowed cell phones upstairs but not on the first floor.
