Program Requirements

US boarding school requirements:

  • Students must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years (12-13 years for the Junior Boarding program)
  • Students must obtain a required SLEP test score set up by each school. The required score usually ranges between 45-55, but some schools will accept lower and some require a higher score. For students with lower SLEP scores many schools offer ESL programs before starting in the academic programs
  • Students must complete the full school application. Students must also submit health records, recent teacher recommendations, school transcripts, and a personal essay
  • For the top-ranked schools, students must have average school grades above 90
  • Students must have a flexible, socially mature approach to live in a foreign country
  • Skills in sports, music, arts or any other interest areas are a big plus
